Blue Water Canyon Ranch-Activities
Roam through the unspoiled Sacramento Mountains in the saddle and hit the saloon in the evening just as the original pioneers did.

Our ranch is attractive for experienced riders as well as for beginners. Surrounded by national forest, Bluewater Canyon Ranch offers a horseback experience that is literally limitless. We offer guided trail rides through magnificent, unpopulated country that last anywhere from one to seven hours. Open valleys invite you to gallop along, countless hills to be climbed that offer breathtaking views all the way to Texas, leisurely rides along the many forest trails and canyons – a fascinating countryside without no-riding zones or pre-assigned trails invites the explorer inside you.

Observe wild game and birds during hikes or while mountain biking, try your hand at horseshoe pitching, lariat throwing or a game of boules. Enjoy golfing at Cox Canyon or fly fishing in the Peñasco River (both a 45 minutes drive from the ranch). Some may just enjoy sitting under an old oak tree to read a book – all these activities are part of the "vacation à la carte idea” at Bluewater Canyon. New on offer are various therapeutic massages as well as stretching and Reiki (view the link in the insert at the bottom of this page).

Novices between 12 and 70 will familiarize themselves with western riding in our round pen. The often-existing basic fear of the "large animal” will gradually diminish as the self-confidence grows. Before long the skills learned will be applied during a leisurely trail ride.
The horseback riding program will be established – as far as practically possible - under consideration of the individual wishes and plans of our guests. A diverse entertainment program enables you to easily find the perfect mix for an active, yet relaxing vacation.

The always-energetic types find each other of an evening at the "Barbed Wire Saloon”. Some play cards or a game of poker at the card table, others play darts or table soccer (fusball), while at the far end of the room a Ping-Pong tournament is on the go and high concentration sets the tone around the pool table. Background music – country, what else? – makes the ambiance perfect and nobody would be surprised to see Billy the Kid enter the scene….
